Why Not have some information on the web site about how to purchase the "Why Not" software or (gasp) even have an online store to pay for and download the software?

What software? If the Whynot site owners have software to sell, that is you should ask them.

If you are asking to purchase software solutions proposed on the whynot site, it is often just that, a proposeal.
