Kid-Proof TV "On/Off" Covers | |||||||||||||||||
My son has a wonderful habit of turning off the television when I am watching a football game...he thinks it's hilarious. Given this fact, I suggest the design of custom fit plastic covers for the "On/Off" switch of TV's (or DVD players, cable boxes, etc.). The plastic cover could either snap-on or use a suction cup to prevent a child from turning the television on or off. It must be strong enough to prevent a child from pulling it off, but must also allow an electronic signal to pass through it (thereby allowing me to still use my remote control). Plastic covers could also be designed to cover the channel/volume selectors.

Better watch that kid. He might turn out to be the kind who would rather read a book than watch meatball sports on the boobtube.
Maybe you should just discipline your kid.
Some TVs already have a flip-down cover over the controls. I thought My Teknika, for instance. I think that was for cosmetic reasons: to give a clean line. Anyway, look for this feature on your next TV, for child-proofing.
