If you spend enough time in a gym you will notice a number of regulars carrying notepads and pens to track their daily workout activities. Monitoring a workout routine could be valuable for everyone interested in general fitness, but many people don't take the time or find it silly to be seen taking notes. What if there was a gym where all of the machines had card slots that would track your mileage on the treadmill, or weight on the leg press? These machines could even automatically set the specs of your last work out on each machine to eliminate some of the dangers of moving the equipment. The card numbers could be used to access summary data on your personal computer. Data, such as average heart rate, could even be helpful to provide to doctors.
