How many times have you made a New Year's resolution to get in shape, paid the 60 bucks a month to a health club, and if you're lucky got in one or two workouts? Then you end up feeling guilty the rest of the year because you a) Didn't get in shape and b) are now down 720 dollars. What's missing here? Peer Pressure!
Imagine a health club that is part workout and part group therapy. You get put together with a support group when you start and a 10 step program to fitness. You also get a Sponsor (another member) who will be your guide through the program, there to make sure you don't fall off the wagon. If you don't show up for workouts, everyone in your group is calling you and guilt tripping you. Even better, you enjoy working out because you get to build relationships with other people in your group. The best thing about this health club is that it's self-perpetuating. Everyone who completes the program will help run the club - it can be completely non-profit and community based.
