We see powered door in the cars, and semi automated handicap door in the shopping mall and the buildings. The garage door at the residence house is also powered and can be remote-controled. But the most of the residential home door lock do not have powered doorlock and cannot be remote-controled.

Everytime when I come back from grocery shopping and both hands are full of bags, I have to put the bags on the ground to free a hand to manually open the door. It happens every week. I feel so inconvenient. Why not develop a new type of remote lock for the residential house? It is also good for the handicap also. The remote panel can have extra function options, such as handicap power key, so that it can not only remote unlock the door, but also open it automatically when it is necessary.

I like it. But, what if a criminal hacked the code? The manufacturer might be liable for damages, which might be considerable. I suspect this is why it hasn't been offered (that I'm aware of).
