I think we could come up with more creative cell phone ring tones to make cell phones less disruptive or to have some good laughs. Also, to increase flexibility cell phone ring tones should not have to be exactly the same for consecutive rings.

For example, if you’re worried about your cell phone going off in class or in a meeting, you could set it to “cough” or “sniffle” mode where it would sound like someone coughing and sniffling. That way people might not notice your cell phone is going off and it might be less disruptive. Each cough or sniffle “ring” might be a little different so that folks wouldn’t notice a weird pattern.

If you’re in a restaurant, you could set the cell phone to “this wine is simply marvelous” mode and the “ring” would be a snooty person saying that. The second consecutive ring could be similar but exchange “wine” for “cheese” or "crumpets". Then people at other tables wouldn’t notice your cell phone ringing and would simply think that you’re snooty.

Even more fun, you could set the cell phone on “pssst, I’m in the bag over here please let me out” mode. People would hear the cell phone ringing in someone’s purse or backpack and have a good laugh when they found out it was only a cell phone and not a small person.
