Stop killing your plants | |||||||||||||||||
Do you forget to water your houseplants? Always dismayed by wilted leaves and lack of blooms? A moisture-level gauge inserted into the soil of houseplants that indicates (by light or sound) when they need to be watered would help more plants live longer! A gauge could be designed that would detect the appropriate level of moisture that your plant needs (for example, one gauge would be suitable for plants that need a lot of water, like tropical Bromeliads, another for those needing less water, such as African Violets, etc.), or one gauge could be manually adjusted to the level of moisture needed. The sound emitted should be fairly infrequent, as to prevent unnecessary beeping when you're not at home, but frequent - and loud - enough so as to draw your attention to the plant needing to be watered.

I'm in desperate need of this! And thanks for the reminder to water my plants... I haven't done that since before I left for my international experience.
