Integrated camera in backpack | |||||||||||||||||
When practicing extreme sports, it could be painful, difficult or impossible to take pictures because of geographical or environmental conditions. An external camera for extreme sports is nothing new but hikers, snowboarders, sailors, etc could find useful a digital camera integrated in their backpack. The lens would be attached to the head like a head-lamp and the camera should be controllable through the backpack (using big, accessible control buttons that can be operated with gloves).

I think this is a great idea. Especially based on recent personal experience. Especially in very cold weather, it can be very difficult to fumble around for a camera, in the process exposing fingers to severe temperatutres. Also, by the time you do all this, the moment worthy of photography may have passed.
They already make a camera-on-a-chip, with a very small plastic lens. Mount the whole thing on your forehead. Not what you would call quality images, though.
