Several postings have appeared on this site about improving alarm clocks and adding to functions they provide, but why not take it even further. Alarm clocks should not only sync with your outlook calendars but also be set to make decisions about the time to go off based on those calendars. They could be set to go off two hours before the first appointment, so they wouldn't go off at all on the weekends, and the time would depend on your daily schedule. Moreover, hearing your daily schedule in the morning after your alarm goes off would be helpful. And why not have these functions be voice activated - you say "snooze" and it goes off again later, you say "schedule" and it reads your schedule from your outlook calendar, you say "weather" and it tells you what it's like outside so you know what to wear. For couples on different schedules, the alarm should sync up to multiple calendars with different settings. Alarm clocks should still be loud and function as a way to wake up, but they could also be a larger part of the morning routine for people with busy lives.

Have it turn on the shower, as on that other post.
