Who enjoys going to the hardware store to make copies of your keys? These trips are incredibly annoying as the duplicates (hardware and service) cost well under $5, making it an inexpensive purchase that should be more convenient. It's particularly frustrating to return home and find that, due to a subtle flaw, the new key doesn't work. Why not develop a mold system that allows you to make copies of keys in the comfort of your own home. You could order different key shapes online and then make extra copies when guests visit.

So instead of offering guests a drink, you offer them a key duplication ?

For the technical skills of most people, the hardware store key cutter service is as good as it gets.

Could probably make do with a Dremel, some blanks, and the requisite safety devices. The critical selling point of duplicating machines is that they are designed to not ruin the existing key.
