Start a western-style home designer/interior design service in a fast-growing Chinese city. China is in the middle of a housing frenzy and Chinese middle-class home owners want western-style home decoration ideas.

The idea is to hire a western architect who will work with local architects and designers to start the service. The firm will do independent contracts for homeowners but can also partner with local home improvement retail chains to offer their services. We will focus on second-tier cities like Chengdu or Wuhan where there is a great demand for such services but supply is limited. The firm will offer interior decoration and re-modeling services. For re-modeling work, the firm will hire local labor who can work with the bureaucracy.

The timing of the idea couldn't be better since annual sales of home improvement products and services in China is growing fast. Chinese home owners are getting more and more exposed to western-style living and want to replicate the same western styles bedrooms and living rooms they see on television in their homes.
