Auto Toothbrush | |||||||||||||||||
An automatic toothbrush for those late nights when brushing your teeth seems like the most daunting task, and just another obstacle between you and your bed. The auto TB would resemble a mouthguard that you would bite down onto and which would immediately brush all your teeth simultaneous, inject and remove the toothpaste and suck out the foam at the end. 15 seconds and voila, ready for bed. This idea could be expanded to include all facial activities, eg removing contacts, washing face, etc.

It would have to be fitted to your mouth by an orthodontist, which means it would cost about $50,000.
I don't think brushing your teeth in your auto is a good idea. No water to swish with.
Seriously, I think this idea could work, and even Belmont's objection could be beaten mechanically--you could make it recognize the placment of your teeth the first time by bending it into shape or something.
I just think it would be hugely complex for only a small benefit. Hoses that fit on the sink spigot, electric motors, wires, toothpaste pumps; How much is it worth to you? It does in fact sound like a product of 'the future'
