BASKET CAR | |||||||||||||||||
THE BASKET OF A HOT AIR BALLON COULD BE MADE INTO A SMALLBASKET CAR POWERED BY PROPANE GAS TANKS. YOU COULD LAND YOURBALLON AND THEN JUST DRIVE AWAY. WE HAD PARACHUTE BIKES DURINGWW-II WHERE THE PARATROOPER COULD SCOOT AWAY AFTER LANDING.

Would make the basket a lot heavier. Why not take a bike ?
A cycle is a good idea - a light weight motorised tricyle would be a betteroption. The most heavy part in a Hot air ballon are the propane gas tanks.A small 150cc -200cc engine should not weight more than 15kgs so a smallfour wheeler basket car is still feasible.
This sounds like a really fun idea initially, but I've been there once when a balloon landed in my dad's field. It was more of a crash. Then they spent a long time folding it up to haul it and it was really heavy. Took multiple people to put it in a container on a trailer pulled by a pick-up truck.
I've also been to a balloon launch--they have these big powerful fans to fill the envelopes enough to start the fires without burning them.
I think these concerns are all in contradiction to the idea of flying-freedom that Pepindia is hoping for.
If you were the only one that had one you have the openness to operate. Just think of what a freaking mess it would be if there were hundreds of these things floating about.
I also echo Hrench on the part about landing being more of a crash. I've been told if the wind picks up above 5 knots it becomes somewhat of a challenge. The problem around here is there are a lot of trees and power lines.
