A timer that can be programmed to to turn off the tv, computer, games, etc. at bedtime.

How about a parent programmed to interact with their children and tell them it's time to go to bed? It would be hard to improve on that.

I think this idea is great. I've thought about implementing it before for my teens.

We often let bedtime slide without noticing. (oops)

My kids don't have computer games or TV's in their rooms, but even when I catch them reading at 1 am, I've been known to shut the breaker off to their room. Unfortunately, they have battery-LED reading lights now...

It also messes up their alarm clocks.
