E-Newspaper | |||||||||||||||||
A large LCD display the size of a regular newspaper, convenient for reading. The feed can be through a cable/ wi-fi. You paper arrives every morning, you use the remote to turn/magnify the pages. Readers who do not have a wi-fi/cable can have a small pen drive(reusable) or a rom stick/smart card with the content delivered by the newspaper boy. You may ask me, when a computer can do all this. Why a e-newspaper? We want to have the feel of a regular newspaper with all theadvanatages of e-newspaper and not to lose the regular morning/evening newspaper reading habbit. In short a dedicated e-newspaper display to replace the paper which will help conserve natural paper pulp for better use It should be a boon tothe old timers who are not computer savy.

maybe a Kindle would work for you? It is an e-newspaper--it even receives content automatically over Sprint cell-phone network, not the internet.

It isn't as large as a regular newspaper, but I've always thought that size was detrimental.
It also isn't any good for wadding up to pack your ebay shipments.

With the plummeting prices of LCD's and Plasma displays - it should bepossible to have large Newspaper Displays. I am not looking at a small e-book, the size of a conventional novel. I mean a large display which shouldmimic the feel of a real newspaper and easy for the aged to browse through.
Many years ago when radio started broadcasting the news people were worried that newspapers would disappear. The comment was that it was unlikely as you can't wrap a fish in a radio. The new organic displays on e-paper may make it possible to wrap a fish in a monitor.
