Why doesn't pringles just put a spring in the bottom of the can so guys with big hands dont have to try fishing chips out with the finger sissor move, or worse tipping the can only to get all of the crumbs in your lap or on the floor. This would be simple to add to their production line and I think would be a big improvment.

Dont try to take this idea, I currently have it in patent pending status.

Or they could put the damned things in a simple plastic bag.

You'd open your can of pringles and they'd spring-out at you like one of those gag-snakes.

Really--how would you keep this from happening?

Also, I suspect such a spring couldn't be had for less than $0.25 even in million-quantites. The only thin-wire spring I could find ten-inches long was mcmaster p/n 9657K82 and they're $0.91 each. Don't want to add that to the simple price of $1.00 for a pringles can.

And think of the waste of resources.

Instead of a spring, how about a transparent light-plastic tube that fits around the contents, with a pull-down strip 1-inch wide along its length. pull the tube up with one hand, pull the flap down with the other, and extract. Cost would be the only object. It might be feasible if it cost only three cents (??)
