Chinese chances | |||||||||||||||||
Although fortune cookies are a popular form of very mild fun in Chinese restaurants I wonder if an enterprising restaurant might make higher stakes. I imagine although some form of monetary reward might be illegal it might be possible for a lucky Chinese fortune cookie to have a note for a free dinner or an extra desert or some form of extra food reward. It could be good for business. There might be children's cookies with a small toy inside for kids although that might be dangerous for choking.

so your fortune could win you a fortune. Sounds good to me.
Also, on your giving-away-a-free-meal deal, I think it's often good business for a restaurant to give away a free meal, because few people eat alone. I often feed six.
I'm surprised you have them in Helsinki. I guess they're an Asian-American invention, not even known-of in China.
There are lots of Chinese and other ethnic restaurants in Helsinki but I grew up in New York City.
In the USA they have this gimmick so frequent it is lame, you peal a sticker off your cup and win a small fry to add to your waist line.
