Retail - Club | |||||||||||||||||
I see a huge problem with nightclubs, jazz clubs and venues of the sort. They aren't fully utilizing their space to make more money. And thus I have a solution. Use the space for retail. Selling fashion, art, electronics, trinkets, whatever. Having all the merchandise on moveable racks will allow the cub owner to easily store the merchandise when the day ends and the nightlife begins.Consumers come to the club during the day and browse the latest in fashion, new art or something similar. The club owner can also utilize the resources and have a DJ spinning or a new up and coming artist to play during shopping hours.Also, open the bar in the afternoon and have a "happy hour" where customers can get deals on merchandise and drinks. The only issue with fashion retail would be dressing rooms. Any ideas?? Once 5 o'clock rolls around, the employees roll all the merchandise off the floor to a back room. And begin preperation for the evening business patrons. The venue would also most likely be decorated and designed in an appealing way that no design - remodeling would have to be done.

Too labor intensive to switch from retail to nightclub mode.
A better idea is for nightclubs (at least of a certain class) to rent themselves as business meeting halls, or as a restaurant.
dual occupancy is an idea that might be applied elsewhere. It's an indication of the lack of creative thinking on social issues that so little dual use is done.
