Instead of using expensive material to insulate your attic,ham shack or your garage - just stick useless/waste cds on theroof, walls and the floor

The reflective surface of a CD may ward off radiation heat but conductive heat goes right through. I don't have enough useless CD to cover a reasonable amount of surface.

Use scrunched up newspapers, shredded paper, strawbales, old fabric, packing materials, styrofoam, etc Maybe spray with fire retardants (not sure what though).
