It wouldn't be too much of a strain on the existing methods of McDonalds or Hardees to serve a steak platter. With fries and garlic toast you'd get a welcome alternative to a burger or other sandwich.

Restaurants, like all businesses, need to focus to compete. People go to a steak-place for steak, not McDonalds.

I've seen Hardees sell tacos, many places sell pizza and wraps are just disguised burritos. But selling something other than people come to buy is just a temporary buzz. Like McDonalds with the McRib--they know it'll generate some interest for a while, but they never let it last more than a couple of years.

When I worked at Arbys as a teen, I'd sometimes slice myself a thick piece of roast-beef for my own supper. But we didn't have any mashed potatos...
