I'd like to be able to create My Personal Library the same way I create my Wish List, i.e. by using Search to find the books I own and by clicking 'Add to My Library'.

In fact, I'd like to create, separately (and in priority):--- My Personal Book Library --- My Personal Music Library --- My Personal Video Library

In release 2.0, I'd like to be able to create my own categories, e.g.for books: business, design, history, science, fiction, etc

I'd Opt In to let Amazon use my libraries to make really sensible personal recommendations, based on the dozens of significant books I own and keep, not on the few I bought recently for myself, my wife and children, my friends, etc.

So, we're talking here of a proverbial win-win situation. Better service for me. Increased revenue for Amazon.

(this is an excerpt of an email I sent to Jeff Bezos on April 22 – still waiting for a reply)

Fantastic idea, And, when some guests are coming, I want help in pick a movie "we" have not seen. And help picking a gift, and so on. Building a database of connected items is valuable for the vendor & the consumer. Great idea.

There's already something that sort of does it called LibraryThing.www.librarything.comand you can look at other people's libraries and trade books.they even have a bar code scanner that you can use to enter in books quickly.

Another idea I had that is currently being solved is the abilityto be able search for topics/content in your library.Google Books is now starting to be able to do this.books.google.com

You can enter your library there and then search for contentand it will give you the book, page number, and a small snippet.I've actually found that it is easier to enter a library intoGoogle (the search experts) and then export it to LibraryThing.

It would be great if it listed short stories or novellas in anthologies as well. That way you don't end up with the same set of stories under different anthology names.
