Many times, we dream about something and the exact same thing happens in the life. Many times, you think that X team will win the trophy in a tournament and that becomes true. Given that the team X was the weakest team and has never won in the entire history.

Later on, you discuss this with people and they do not believe that you really had such dream or intuition. If you are a regular victim of this situation then you may like this:

Why not have a portal where you can post anything that that gets recorded with timestamp and under no circumstance the content can be changed. You can really show to people the very fact that your dream or intuition was correct. People may argue that we can use emails or other readily available software for this purpose but my point is to have exclusive portal (or micro portal off a portal like YAHOO/GOOGLE) which people can rely - this can actually help people know that something like this can be done.

However, if google comes up with a microportal on these lines then I can claim that it was my idea as a lot of people believe WN and you cannot edit your posts :-P

I hope I explained it well.

I wonder what the point is of claiming an idea first. It has been many times demonstrated that the elements of ideas float through the ideasphere continuously so there is no question that two people can get the same idea at the same time because the time for that idea is ripe. That happened with both evolution and with calculus and surely with many others. If you want to lay a legal claim on an idea there are procedures for that and hopefully that effort would inspire utilization of the idea for the common good. But to try to grab some sort of useless credit to perhaps stifle useful efforts strikes me as anti-social and egotistical. I have submitted many ideas at this site, some with potential and some without but the effort is made to place a concept in the open so that it will be used. If someone can make a profit out of it, so be it. I am interested in ideas, not money.

Someone who wants to prove themselves the next Nostrodamus or Jean Dixon would certainly be in favor of this. . .

And if there's something the world needs more of it's soothsayers.

It might not legally stand. The technology will have to be tried first.

There is the good old write it down and paper mail it to yourself. AFAIK, the dated and quasi-legal postmark have legal standing, to some degree.
