Turbine Electric Vehicle | |||||||||||||||||
Use a "Tesla" disk turbin to turn a generator that recharges the batteries or runs the electric motor or both.Turbines are more effecient than internal combustion when run at a constant speed. The bugs have been worked out of producing "Tesla" disk turbines (more efficient still than regular turbines) by a manufacturer in Michigan. Couple this with the battery recharge/management system developed by Tesla Motors and you have a vehicle that gets 100 mpg with race car acceleration and a range of 600 - 1000 miles between fill ups.

I am all for using turbines for hybrid cars, but conventional turbines are actually more efficient than Tesla turbines. OTOH, Tesla turbines are simpler and may be cheaper to make, so they might still be a good choice.
