Friendly Honk Button | |||||||||||||||||
You know those times when you're stuck behind someone who hasn't noticed the light has changed? Or maybe you see a friend walking along the street. You honk your horn to say, "Please notice the light has changed," or, "Hi Dave, it's me Peter." But you have to honk lightly or your action will be perceived as obnoxious. Press too softly and the horn doesn't sound. Why not have a small button on the stearing wheel that blows a friendly "beep beep" horn? These sounds could even be customized like ring tones.

I expect quite a few people would really like this idea. Someone suggests it about every other month.
I rarely honk my horn, but if I do need a 'friendly' honk, I do the 'bee-beep' honk.
and maybe even accompany it with a wink (small blink-blink light) ;)
Add a 'Wanna Date me Honk' - Will be very usefull when a good lookingchic whizes past you.
lol. sweet.
Car manufacturers must not have a clue. This is way too easy to implement.
Or maybe that's the problem?
A display to send the common messages of a "honk" wouldn't be bad.
"Thank you""Hey, there's a speed trap ahead of you"
some people use turn signals for "thank you", and "you're pastme go ahead change lane"how do you signal for a country turn?
"I'm giving you right of way"... my mobile phone just rang."get off my tail""get your high beams out of my effin' rear view mirror.""My built-in car webcam has just taken a video of your car and emailed it to the police."
