Many people have a favorite barbershop that they see regularly. Others wait till their hair is too out of control, and then go to one of several barbershops, depending on their schedule, where they happen to be at the time, how long the line is and so forth. Those barbershops that wish to promote loyal and regular customers should use a variation of a deal Blockbuster advertises. They should offer people a subscription service in which they get a card good for a fixed number of haircuts per year, each of which is good for a fixed period of time, with none of them overlapping. For example, you can get a card that entitles you to one haircut a month for an entire year.

More rubbish for the consumer to carry around, and would probably end up costing more because one would be in the wrong place when needing that haircut.
Do what I did and buy electric clippers and cut your own hair!
I belong to a place where you pay membership dues for the year and can get your haircut (+ manicure and shoe shine) as often as you like.
John Allans, 2 locations in Manhattan and expanding
And John Allans has a kegerator in the corner. Free beer while you get your haircut.
I don't know if this idea can get any more refined!
Excellent Idea. Especially for us military folks who are required to get a haircut once a week if not more. A subscription for a weekly haircut at a rate that is slightly reduced when compared to a normal pay as you go rate would probably be very effective. Also, a punch card type of system where you get your 11th haircut free would also keep people coming back. I don't think Marines would know how to handle free beer while getting a haircut, but it is a nice idea too.
