Arctic submerged Ships | |||||||||||||||||
As the arctic ice is reducing in size over the years, the ressources (e.g. oil, ore) of northern canada and siberia become better accessable. To make use of these ressources and to reduce the distances of transport to japan, europe and the US west coast submerged barges can be used. These ships are less vulnerable for the still existing ice. Only the towboats will be traditional ships.

I don't understand why a submerged ship would be less vulnerable to existing ice? I understand that submarines can navigate under the artic, but it's no cakewalk and they're quite 'vulnerable' all of the time.Do you mean to tow the barges under the remaining ice?
