There are many horrendous movies that have one or two priceless scenes. For most people, it isn't worth the expense and effort of taking out and searching through a movie for the one or two good scenes. Fortunately there is a very simple solution to this problem, which the record companies have already used to deal with the similar problem of terrible bands with only one or two hits that people want to hear. There should be a video with the greatest scenes of movies that weren't a box office success. There could be one for comedy, one for dramatic plot twists, one for car chases (sure to be entitled "Cut to the Chase") - there is no shortage of ways to group together scenes in a way that will be easily marketable to the proper audience. The movie studious will get some additional revenue from their weaker movies. Furthermore, if someone really loves a scene, he may be tempted to see the rest of the movie to better appreciate the context in which it occurred.

Hi,
Such kind of clipping CDs with various comedy scenes, fight stunts et al are already available in my country though I am yet to see the english movie clippings assortment. And I am sure it would be a great idea, as you say, for the movie companies to earn revenues on the movies which don't do very well.

While I don't think the compilation CD analog is an accurate one as songs are stand-alone pieces while scenes from movies are more like excerpts from novels, it's an interesting idea. I've often ended up buying a book after reading an excerpt in a magazine or reader.
