Some users want to be aware of the latest ideas without having to go through what they have already read. Why not some type of indication of how "recent" the recent hits section is? This way, users would know when to come back to this website for the freshest look each time.

But there is an indication of whether you've read an idea, because the color of its title changes from blue to a sort of purple/red, or "plum". (At least if you've allowed this site to employ cookies when you registered.)

"Recent hits" refers to those ideas that are gaining popularity, or at least agreeable votes. The newest posted ideas are in the "Most recent" section.
