Waterway produced Energy | |||||||||||||||||
California has numerous waterways that transfer water to be used for farming. These waterways, about 15 feet across, are a controlled flow and debris free but always flowing. These waterways are cemented waterways also. Imagine centering a small paddle type mill, suspended over the waterway using a pole. This pole would have a large gear at the end which would be connected to a smaller gear. Connected to the smaller gear would be a generator. The large gear would spin the smaller gear similar to that in a windmill turbine. The benefit of the watermill turbine is it would always be moving at a constant speed and can be controlled. There would be no requirement to apply braking or have a lack of movement such as that of a windmill. Spread a mill about 100 yards from each other and the amount of power would be plentiful.
