No matter how convenient cell-phones are, they are quite a nuisance to carry around. Why don't they make a cell-phone that you wear and carry around on your wrist, like a wrist watch, without having to bother not to forget it behind you?

I think you need to go one step further. Think about this for a second: some people think its OK to not wear watches, and instead carry cellphones to tell the time. What I'm trying to get at (badly) is that combining devices will still leave an element of complaining about nuisance or the risk of leaving it somewhere, etc. A watch is fairly important, but is it less important than say, clothes? :) Lets face it, you can leave home without a watch, but not without clothes (we limit our discussion to the average Joe here!)

I think cell phones should be integrated into clothing. you could build the control pad into your wrist (or sleeve), maybe the answer/ignore options on your shirt buttons, surround sound speakers/mic in your collar/neck.

Samsung, Swatch and other manufacturer have tried it. Mobiles require a much larger battery than most folks will wear on their wrists.

In the movie "Blankman" there is a cellphone (or walkie-talkie) function on a mans belt buckle. There would be plenty of room for a flat flexible battery on a belt. You can use the new disposable cell phone technology which 'prints' the cell phone circuit on paper or mylar to make a belt phone possible. Bluetooth technology eliminates the wire going from your belt to the earphone/mic. The actor in the movie was actually talking to a yougster on his phone-belt but was seen in public yelling "I'll play with you when I get home!" into his crotch. Definetly go with the earphone/mic...

I say that the wristwatch should only have the caller ID and minimum hard buttons (the ignore/snooze-answer buttons, arrows to navigate through a phone book...)The snooze-answer button is another igenius idea that came to me. It makes your phone ring an extra number of times, so that your answering system doesn't pick up. That way you can give yourself an extra 30 seconds to prepare to answer (to dry your wet hands, or to go to another room, etc.)

Obviously bluetooth will communicate through all your cell communication components. You can replace/upgrade them as needed.

The actual phone with the battery should be your belt or maybe some holster-type set-up. Then, very importantly, the belt should also have a snap-in head-set. It fits flush into the buckly or where ever seems convenient.

When you get a call, you feel the vibration/hear the ringer. You look at your watch to see who's calling (I usually screen most calls). If you want to ignore, you press the button on your wristwatch. You also could hit the snooze button, and turn down the volume of the car stereo. If you choose to answer, then you pull out of your belt the headset, and press the answer button which is on all bluetooth headsets. What do you think about that idea?

Interestingly, during a trip to Florida last week, I purchased a cell phone case which was invented by a guy in the military for soldiers and specificaly made to hold a regular cell phone attached to the wrist. The design is simple. It has a ordinary cell phone pouch, but with a band with velco to attach it to my wrist. It, also, has a little padding between the wrist and the back of the phone pouch, presumably for comfort. Great for sports, driving, etc.I did notice during a long drive back, the weight became increasingly uncomfortable so I simply changed wrist. Sorry. I did not get the contact information.
