there are tonnes of kids shoes that light up on impact, making them visible for night walking, i assume this is your point, but as far as i know there arent many for adults, and i agree that they would be good for this, also they should have a switch to turn the lights off during the day, saving batteries, and saving you from looking foolish, as they tend to look a bit rediculous

This might work, though the device in the flashlights is too large to fit in a shoe. It might be possible to miniaturize it enough to work. However, the device uses a magnet that reciprocates inside a coil to generate the electricity. Having something bouncing inside your shoes might be annoying.
