Solution for drunk drivers | |||||||||||||||||
Hi! As I was thinking a while ago about symmetry, I found out the following : After a car accident occurs, the driver is being tested for alcohol. That's fine but can't we test the drivers before the accident happens? Sure we can! There will be no car accidents if the drunk drivers are not allowed to drive their own vehicle. My suggestion is to put a breath detector in the car remote (this one that unlocks the car). By a simple translation from the Breath-recognition technology we can assure that the car recognizes its driver and allows him or her to drive only if the alcohol test is negative. That's an example of an alcohol tester, that I've found recently.http://www.spysupplystore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=BT5500&Category_Code=SS-101 I admit, this is a pretty complex and expensive solution, but can we compare price with humans life? Best wishes! Nitro

And all that's needed to bypass the system is a balloon that was blown up before you stopped for a beer, the same way people with court ordered ignition interlocks do it now.
That aside, I suppose your system would create a whole new industry for devices that would plug into the cigarette lighter and blow the air through the tester for you.
Where I live, in certain circumstances, a person convicted of drinking and driving must have a government approved interlock installed in their vehicle. It requires you hum and blow to register a reading, and not just to start, but to keep driving (about every 20 minutes or so).
Something like this is already being used and has been for years. I wouldn't think that a remote door-lock sensor would work as it would be ridiculously easy to get around (just use the key or don't lock the door). I suppose you may have meant to use the remote to actually start the car, but that's not what they normally do.
make the cars peddal powered for drinkers?
Where you getting this, "There will be no accidents if the drunk drivers are not allowed to drive their own vehicle" crap from? You think all accidents are caused by drunks?
Get a grip because I'm going to reveal something you might not want to know. Sober people cause more accidents than drunk drivers do. Yep, that's right.
And not every accident results in the driver getting a breath test, and that's the way it should be. Because not everybody drinks and drives. Just why do you think it's a good idea to penalize everybody for the actions of a few?
Let's go after Suzie Cellphone, Freddie Fastfood, Aunt Confused, Grandpa Cantsee, and Damion Drinkingproblem. But leave the rest of us out of your plan for government intrusion.
Thanks for the comments :) It's great that something like that already exists :) Just have in mind what I wrote: I just tried to turn the sentence upside-down and this is what I came up with. It's just an idea ;) and I still think it could work, but it needs some improovement, I guess. It will be very nice if you suggest any improvements. wish you all the best.Nitro
P.S. Why not? ;)
This may be a good idea for persons who have already been convicted of a DWI to deter further offensives. It would be a very expensive gadget to add to the price of a car when several million people are responsible enough to not drink and drive.
