hi,If you bring your own containers to the store you could buy any quantity of product from 1 gram –100 pounds. Stores sell bulk stuff now cereal, candy, and seeds, ECT. I would like to see all stuff sold this way, liquids, dressings, juice, frozen foods, and cleaning supplies. Every thing in the store could be sold this way!product's would be shipped in bulk to stores.this would create new market's and less trash. You would need to clean your own containers insted of throwing them away!thanx ps. this is to save money and lower the cost of food.

Many manufacturers spend money on branding by packaging, and profit more from the smaller sized packaging.

Also, some products are perishable to a degree, so would not take well to bulk packaging and dispensing. An example is salad dressing, especially the cream/mayo based ones, which are pasturised and sealed.

As it is,you know dry goods do best in bulk.

This would be very unsanitary, especially for wet foods. Many food products rely on their packaging for preservation, such as canned goods.

Not sure about your implementation, but individually-wrapped items are very wasteful. And it always seems to be the case that buying, say, six IW items is more expensive than buying the six-pack. Wouldn't be so much of a problem if everyone threw away their trash, or the IW packaging was biodegradable.

We need to wean everyone off the pretty packaging and learn how to reuse what limited materials we have.
