Ever walk into a tiny dorm room, puzzled as to how to arrange the furniture into a livable space?

The idea is to allow students to see the rooms they've received in the raffle online before they arrive on campus. Only a few digital photos, and perhaps some measurements would have to be taken. The student and roommate(s) could plan ahead and maximize their dorm room without bringing unwanted furniture.

This basic idea is in practice previewing vehicles to be purchased online and previewing the view from a given seat at a concert. Further, a furniture depot could be set up at the college for the students to exchange used/unwanted items.

Dorms are essentially cookie cutter. The college only need supply the room style code, and the layout of the various styles.

i agree with you but generally this is already possible. I agree that every housing department for campus dorms should post floor plans. that is the most efficient way to do it as far as space is concerned, you can see exact measurements. example:http://www.housing.gatech.edu/assignments/reshalls_detail.cfm?BldgID=134E
