Why not have a Life Jacket which inflates on sensing water.The Jacket should be light and should not hinder the childin his play activities and at the same time should be ableto save the child when he/she accidently falls into a pond/lake.

That would work for anyone, not only children. Of course, you might have a problem if it rains.

It could be used for Adults apart from kids. I am looking ata small electronic sensor which could activate a small C02 cylinder.The sensor can be programmed to inflate only in a pool and not in therain. Primarily it is meant for children who cannot activate thelife jack on their own.
They do in fact exist. The use a CO2 cylinder and a valve held closed by a water soluble tablet. When the tablet gets wet, it gives way for the pin, allowing the valve to open and fill the flotation device with CO2.
