Had this idea as i ride a motor bike when its cold sometimes. Get a cotton/wool beanie and cut the head of it off so you have like a tube. Then slide it over your head so that it joins your jumper to your helmet and you can now keep your neck warm and protected from those anoying bugs that u may sometimes hit when riding along.Using the same idea you could also cut an old thick socks tip off and use it when you might have tennis elbow or similar pain in your knee. Use some tiger balm or deep heat first then put this sock over it and hey presto, cheap and easy

Smalls this is a great idea and it's cool that you've been able to make one for yourself, but I know that people wear balaclavas and neck warmers already when motorcycling
As for putting balm in one, I know that a chemical reaction that feels warm doesn't actually produce heat, so you'll probably get all greasy and not really be warmer. But maybe it'll help anyway because it feels warmer. I won't knock it 'til I've tried it.
