Future music | |||||||||||||||||
I was in orchestra for 3 years and I hated nothing but that awful page turn to the next sheet in mid-song. I absolutley hated that. Now, my idea is to have a qued slideshow of the music, most likley timed, so no stopping, and turning the page is necessary. It would be on a LCD screen and maybe show other useful things, like the tempo and other cool stuff.

sounds great to me. How large of a screen does music require? Could someone design something like this into the size of a Kindle?

Yes, this sounds promising. You could probably make it about the same size as a regular score sheet, which is about 8 1/2 by 11 inches. Being that it could be animated, it coud actually eliminate the need for a conductor. In effect, you would have a virtual conductor on the screen. Of course it wouldn't have to resemble an actual conductor, though it could. This would actually make it easier to follow as you wouldn't have to shift your gaze between the sheet and the conductor.
Each instrument has to have different music (they often play different parts), but they need to stay in sync, so it would probably be best to have a single computer operate all of the screens. It could be wireless for convenience.
What about developing a mechanism that would turn to the next sheet when pressed by a leg?It would certainly be much cheaper than use of a computer system. Moreover it wouldn't need any energy so it would be also more environment friendly.
Why Not have a Scrolling Display similar to the LED Display lights ?
