A lot of people use electric heaters to heat their homes or offices. Computers produce a lot of heat. Why not make heating units composed of computer processors, connected to the internet? These could be used for a lot of distributed computing tasks for both commercial and scientific tasks. Supply of processing power of course would be seasonal, peaking in the winter.

Computer processors are getting cheaper. Also, old computer motherboards still have some processing power. Perhaps old processors could find new life in these heaters. Businesses may also be willing to pay money for spare processing power, which could subsidize the cost of the units. Basically, the heater would come in a big box and air would be warmed by flowing it through the box and into the ventilation system.
