we need tangible music, not just digital downloads. what do you guys think will happens to CDs? any better alternatives? maybe some memory cards?

I agree. Most of the music I still buy I get on ebay as CD, then I download. But I do have a huge stack of dusty CD's that never do anything.
I lost a hard-drive and my daughters had to fool their ipods so they wouldn't sync and wipe, losing hundreds of dollars of 'music'--where I could just reload the CDs. But I had back-ups for most of it.
What are you talking about? If a memory card is your definition of "tangible" then what do you call the hard drive inside your computer?
