why this site fails, sorry | |||||||||||||||||
people are too pessimistic and skeptical about things. there are so many invention ideas that were submitted 5-6 years ago that many people shot down. hey, it's 2008 and a lot of those ideas became successful! one example i'd like to mention: the audio jack plug-in on cars. this was submitted in 2003 and lots of people rejected it. the USB car audio idea was also crushed back then. but now, we see every mid to high end car that rolls into production equipped with both of these features! my friends, and fellow creative thinkers on this website, please do not be discourage if you receive negative feedback for your ideas. as corny as it sounds, the day before an idea is brilliant, it is usually a crazy idea. and this website has proven, countless times, that users (like me) have actually been wrong when judging ideas.

Criticism by people who are acquainted with basic principles of physics is not only appropriate but necessary in a site that permits proposals of perpetual motion machines and people who have frequently small considerations about manufacturing impossibilities and socially destructive ideas. It encourages people to understand the basics behind their proposals and the consequences if they are undertaken. There is absolutely nothing wrong with intelligent and well informed criticism.
oh yes, i completely agree with you. common sense does need to be applied. laws of physics are clearly a barrier of truth.
im just pointing out the rare few occasions where potentially good ideas may be smashed.
I just checked the car audio jack plug-in post. It has 144 votes in favor, 2 neutral and 7 opposed. How does that qualify as "lots of people rejected it"? The car audio USB post has 6 in favor, 0 neutral and 0 opposed. I also read all the comments on that one, and they are all supportive. How do interpret that as "crushed"?
look at the ecofriendly sunglasses post that 2 people automatically rejected. little do they know, theyre actually sold nation wide at every whole foods market.
Why a little imagination, many criticisms could instead become suggestions for improvements. I admit a lot of ideas are silly, but why pile on negativity as a reflexive reaction?
Your example is the audio jack plug-in on cars? Dude, nobody in their right mind thought that was a bad idea. Anybody with the slightest experience in stereo equipment or mp3 players would have thought an auxiliary input was an awesome idea.
There are plenty of bunk ideas on this site, which is why nobody will ever follow through on them. People aren't being pessimistic. They're being realistic. If you have an idea, brace yourself for disappointment. You have to crack a few eggs to make an omelet.
Hello, inventions always need to start somewhere, maybe at first it would seems idiotic, but with a little more understanding things can be a requisite to another application sometimes when you look at it from the "outside D box" it could lead you somewhere more interesting like a light on your head.If you outsource stuff that means they get the benefit to evolve from it and your patent would not be applicable anymore. People tell me that somebody might still my "IDEA"but if you look at it this way that they are only doing the test product for you.
