WhyNot as a platform has its greatest responsibility toward those ideas that share in the heritage of whynot itself.
The collaborative networks we have seen so far mostly produce value in the form of cataloging information (Flicker), and sometimes peppering it with style (Wikipedia). A superwiki is a wiki that, by virtue of its structure, turns disconnected partial and elective contribution into a unit of knowledge with internally consistent logic of ends and means. The open plural structure of the supewiki will immediately have massive leverage in any domain where knowledge is institutionally produced or ratified. The de-institutionalized production of original knowledge is flexible, cheap, deep, broad and plural.
