Why bother to flag it? Why not just remove it?

sand, Nov 29 2008

I am not authorized to remove other people's ideas & comments.

wizard1961, Nov 30 2008

You already have the ability to disagree and comment on other's input. It is for the people who run the site to decide to remove really objectionable material. No contributor should be able to disable any other's input.

You told me to remove it! You weren't making sense then & you are still missing the point. Spam is not an idea, it is an annoyance.

I agree the administration staff should decide if something should be removed. The "flag as objectionable" technique works on many sites. If you need a detailed explanation maybe google can help, but the "flag" technique sends a quick alert to people who can decide if there is a problem, or not. Its really quite common.
