Replace power poles | |||||||||||||||||
Power poles probably cost a large amount, so instead my idea is basically is to replace every power pole with a Wind Turbine, so it's actually generating electricity instead of just transporting it, better yet, the electricity would be free, and green and safer for the environment, and then if there's not enough power, maybe adding solar panels to the blades of the wind turbines, or something.

I thought from the title that you were going to suggest getting rid of the poles all together, which I would personally like. I think power lines are ugly. Unfortunately, it's cheaper to put up poles than bury the cables underground.
You can't put regular wind turbines on power poles unless you make the poles much taller so the blades will clear the cables. However, you could use vertical axis turbines, which would probably work better in general.
Compared to a wind turbine, they are cheap, and nearly maintenance free.Plus the power they deliver from traditional power plants is continuous, not like that generated by a wind turbine.
In a lot of cases, it would impractical to install wind turbines instead of poles, such as urban or forested areas.
