tax fund | |||||||||||||||||
Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy both say that they should be paying more taxes. Why don't we set up a fund that sends money straight to the IRS where people can send anything they want above and beyond what they are already paying. If politicians don't send extra money then they can no longer say that they wish they were paying more taxes.

Actually you can already do this. Several lawmakers signed their 2001 $300 or $600 tax refund checks back over to the Treasury Department. I believe that you can also write a check to a specific fund, like the "Deficit Reduction Fund".
I thought that Massachusetts, when it lowered state personal income taxes, had a tick-off box on the tax form, allowing people to calculate and pay taxes as though the tax rates hadn't changed.
I thought also that very, very few people chose to voluntarily pay more.
Iam tired of these armchair liberals always saying that they dont pay enough in taxes, when what they really mean is that you and I dont pay enough in taxes. why dont they fire their accountants and just pay what the IRS says is their tax obligation!
