day of 100,000 seconds | |||||||||||||||||
why dont we divide day into 100,000 seconds instead of 86,400 seconds. currently we have 24 hours a day 60 minutes an hour and 60 seconds a minute WHY NOT we have 10 hours a day 100 minutes an hour and 100 seconds a minute it will be of a great help if we have time in decimal numbers [ power of 10 ] instead of random 60 and 24 calculations.

Decimal time keeping would be great, but our current system is universally used and I don't think the world would want to deal with a change over. I've contemplated the same idea and considered different ways of dividing up the day, but I know none of them are going to be adopted.
There is a "standard" for decimal time very similar to yours, backed by the Swatch company. In addition to tome being divided into 1000 units per day, its day begins as UTC-1 (swiss time) wherever the world you are.
Also, I have kind of developed a decimal calendar, which has 10 months of five 7 day weeks each, plus a remainder month that has around two weeks, plus a leap day if there is one that year.
Time zones, if needed, would be 20 of them, a hard 18 degrees from the prime meridian.
I want to eliminate July, August, and Wednesday to have 10 months with 6 weeks of 6 days. The extra days for the year sit in a holiday week at the end of each year, which includes the leap day when needed. January 1st is always a Monday, as is the first of every month.
Who's with me?
I guess most of us have thought about this before, but I just don't see how it could really provide any benefit.
What is the advantage of it?
