LAPTOP MONITOR | |||||||||||||||||
Did anyone explore the possibility of using alaptop as a monitor for a desktop CPU. A smallusb adapter into the laptop and a cable to the VGA input of the desktop CPU would be a ideal adapter.This saves the need to buy an additional monitorfor a the desktop units in the office or at home.

USB generally doesn't have the bandwidth. The only effective way would be to have a PC video input on the notebook computer, and that would add to costs.
This would be feasible with software that lets input video override the notebook's own video. Since most notebook displays are small (and thus no truly large resolutions), it could be done via USB. No need for additional plugs.
Hey, GoodIdea!In addition we have posted the ideas to:1. Put your laptopscreen on a sort of telescope arm (like a radio antenna), to avoid pain in the neck (posted to Dell's ideastorm site).2. Solarize yout laptop (make the top of sunpower generting stuff). You just lay in in the sun and its starts recharging. Or roll out your solarized 'towel' at a sunny place and it starts reloading.Keep on doing the goodwork,Iwanjka,SpiriLogic member
Note: a TalkSpot for the solarized laptop concept can be found at Dell's ideastorm site. Search there for 'solartop', or Google on 'solartop' and 'gulabel', that will bring you to the talkspot as well. Overthere you can read comments of others and post you own comments.
