The new working structure should be developed based upon an individuals ability to do that job. How do we test for that greater ability, we use IQ test's. This can then lead to further developments because then genius's would be allowed to work in their desired field! Of course they would have to take test's related to the skill's that are required in the job, that they are being tested for. This would solve some problems that we have in society.

A test to determine one's aptitude for a job would not really be an IQ test. Frankly, IQ tests are bunk. Job aptitude tests can be useful and are used in at least some fields. I agree they should be used whenever it would make sense.

Dwane Anderson, Jan 18 2009

No, because then it would be based upon the average intelligence level.

dhiggins, Jan 18 2009

The German IQ test was developed based upon the average test score. If you were to score higher on the test then the average individual you would have better chance then the average of getting the job.

dhiggins, Jan 18 2009

How many jobs did you see where people really have to use their brains?? I'll tell you, maybe 1 or 2, and those are the ones for geeks really, like computer engineering or r&d. Jobs are only faces, images, like it or not. A company only hires those who look good, not that are good.

xkuntay, Jan 18 2009

BTW I have to tell some word or two about the oximoron IQ tests. You don't believe that IQ test score cannot be improved? I sure do, and I can prove it with examples. Why, my own score improved from one to the other 10 points! And I betcha if I took that exam 100 times, I'll be around 200!

xkuntay, Jan 18 2009

I'm only suggesting that it might be beneficial to society.

dhiggins, Jan 18 2009

The term nerd or geek, is only classification. Not all genius's are geeks and not all geeks are genius's but there are a few. So don't stereo type.

dhiggins, Jan 18 2009

How does it benefit society to give a job to a guy who is "smart" instead of a guy who is good at doing the job? IQ test don't really test intelligence anyway. They test your skill at taking IQ tests.

Dwane Anderson, Jan 19 2009

Why wouldn't the smart guy be good at the job that, the guy that is good at his job is doing.

dhiggins, Jan 19 2009

Maybe he would be, maybe he wouldn't. The thing is, an IQ test doesn't really tell you if he is or not. An aptitude test for the specific job will be more likely to tell you if he is good at the job or not.

Also, why deny the job to a guy that you know is good at it just because some other guy is "smarter"? Average IQ people need jobs too.

Dwane Anderson, Jan 19 2009

IQ test can be seriously studied by those who want an unscrupulous advantage. So, this alone proves it is not a fair system. And, even if a person is smarter, how do you justify hiring a criminal genius mind who may one day steal you blind? Anyone ever hear of Bernie Madoff??
