Since many people have ideas and inventions. We should have an invention contest. Contestant can submit multiple inventions. The winner will get the money to produce the his/her invention. The winner will be base on innovation, profitable, within budget...The money come from the contestants and investors. Example if each person will pitch-in $10 to $100 or it's up to individual. When the invention make money. The winner get %30. The 70% is for the contestants and investors. Of course, everybody involve will get a contract agreements. The whole process will be update so everybody will know. The owner of this website can be treasury and disperse the money as needed. This way at least we have fun and make $$$$

From what I have learned about bringing an invention into production it takes a hell of a lot more than cash to get a really successful innovation from conception to the market place and even then the percentage of really successful products is very small. Since it does happen I assume lots of people try and fail to make the few that succeed and any encouragement is a worthy effort but it's a hard rocky road and it's advisable not to hold too many illusions.
Who would do the judging? I don't know who I would trust to judge something so debatable.
They do have invention contest--occassionally they end up on the Jay Leno show. Mostly they get made fun of. But I'd never do it. Getting in an invention contest is a give-away of your ideas--there's really no way you can be protected.
Just like this website, many inventions are 'given away' just by the fact that they're revealed. I can't afford a patent and many ideas that are just combinations of things aren't really patentable. So if I don't win the contest, my idea has been seen by hundreds of people and they can copy it and beat me to the market.
Also, if I have an idea say for a motorcycle, I'm not really in the business of making motorcycles, so if it's a great idea, a motorcycle company will have a way-easier time making the design than I would, since I don't own a motorcycle company.
Still I can see your impetus. But really, if you have an idea that's really good, you should just start building it--start small and start selling.
I worked at the company Gary Burrell and Min Kao worked at during the time they were starting Garmin. They didn't win an invention contest. GPS wasn't even patentable--the military invented it. They just got to market first with useable public products. Look at them now.
I agree with Hrench - Whynot.net is a goldmine of ideas.Intelllectual property laws have many loopholes. We dopost our ideas some our own, some a combination of ideasto brew a new idea. If I had the money I would have appliedfor patents for all my ideas - a dream
I would like to share my ideas, if people copy it withouta proper acknowledgement is does create a bitter sense.
With all these restrictions and pit-falls it is stilla great website for putting forth your ideas gettingcomments/criticisms from members who are all higly educated and talented.
