Home energy generators | |||||||||||||||||
More than a billion people in developing countries have no access to electricity. A big part of this is the lack of infrastructure, such as, electtricity transmisson and distribution lines. My idea consists of two parts - Part One - Set up local renewable power generation facilites in these villages or small towns. The power generation could be using wind or solar power. Lets call these energy hubs.Part Two - Provide to people in these places what is essentially a small generator that can be charged in these hubs. These genrators do enough to light up a small home, operate a fan etc.Revenue can be generated by selling these small generators and charging people for the amount of energy they use per month to charge their generators. This also gets around the problem of tremendous investments in infrastructure development that is not likely to happen. Even if it did, the time frame is a lot longer.

There seems to be some confusion here of the nature of a generator. Perhaps a battery is what is intended.
The reason most of those billion people don't have electricity is because they can't afford it. Many of those people without it are reasonably comfortable and would rather not get it if they would have to pay for it. People managed to live for millions of years without electricity.
