My idea is to have a "Deselect" button in elevators along with a sensor in the waiting area of every floor. So many times people call for an elevator but if it is taking too long to come, they just decide to take the stairs. A lot of times people select the wrong floor by mistake. And then there are enough times when somebody presses the button for every floor just to have some fun. In all these cases there is a considerable wastage of time and energy. In order to counter these problems, elevators should have a "Deselect" button which simply allows you to deselect the floors you do not wish to stop at. The sensor in the waiting area of every floor just makes sure that the person who called for the elevator is still there. If the person is not there then the elevator does not stop at that floor. Saves time! Saves Energy!
